Project Overview

The mountains of León are a mountain range in northwestern Spain, in the province of León. The people of the Mountain region are strong and resilient. However this region had been undergoing challenges with the loss of mining in the area, and rising unemployment. They have also faced youth outmigration, an ageing population and a lack of industry in the area. A group of highly committed individuals worked on a large- scale project to work with the region to plan for the future. This group consisted of people from local communities, academics and experts in areas such as entrepreneurship, tourism, culture and heritage, topography and history.
