Jorge Assis holds a B.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning and Post Graduate studies in Innovation and Development Policies, both through the University of Aveiro (Portugal).  With over 20 years of professional work in these areas, Jorge describes himself as a firm believer in the diversity of challenges.

In his professional career, Jorge has worked in both the public, private and third sector, covering many  aspects  within the realms of regional development and strategic planning, information society and digital technologies, cluster development and collaborative networks, industry consulting on R&D and innovation management, while furthering different technical and related soft skills.

Concerned, like many, with our common legacy for future generations, throughout Jorge’s work and activity he strives and hopes to contribute to the transition to more environmentally respectful and sustainable modes of production, consumption and overall societal behaviors.

As Future iQ’s Country Representative for Portugal, Jorge has a wide range of experience, dealing within Portugal and internationally. Through his activity Jorge has worked with clients from industries in very different domains and value-chains (Food, Bio-Tech, Construction, ICTs, Textiles,…) as well as with a diversity of stakeholders from the Science and Technology Innovation Ecosystem. His focus has always been about translating prospecting into action.
