Working with Future iQ affords me the opportunity to look at a broad range of micro and macro trends that have direct influence on our current systems and our futures. Particularly interesting to me is that when you isolate the largest, or most highly volatile influencers of change, there tends to be a rather small pool of factors shared by communities / regions / companies across the globe. Working daily with multiple technologies that allow us to spread a message to a global population, I find the influence of technology to be the biggest factor leading to change. In many ways, modern technology (social media, manufacturing methods, digital distribution, etc) is enabling a relative homogenization of societies and sub-cultures. Yet, the ability to communicate and disseminate information broadly and rapidly seems to be leading a positive shift toward the importance of supporting local economies, individuals positively affecting climate and environment, and influencing political policies.
