
Abbeville County is working with Future iQ on a comprehensive and sustainable Strategic Action Plan, looking out to 2035. The objective of the strategic planning process is to build on Abbeville County’s current success and incorporate new actions to maintain this success over the next 10 years. The outcome of this process, running October 2024 through June 2025, will be to produce a robust, comprehensive and sustainable Strategic Action Plan.
Abbeville County, South Carolina is rich in both history and natural resources. Covering 508 square miles and encompasses the natural resources of Calhoun Falls State Park and Marina, Richard Russell Dam, and Sumter National Forest. As of the 2020 census, the population of Abbeville County was 24,295. Historically Abbeville County includes the Abbeville Opera House and historic district, the Burk-Stark Mansion circa 1841, and Erskine College located in the town of Due West.
The Abbeville County Strategic Action Plan will communicate a shared vision for the future, with an implementation roadmap outlining priorities and goals over the next decade. The planning process will be based on input from elected officials, County staff, and Abbeville County stakeholders and citizens through a robust and transparent engagement process.
