Columbia Basin Trust Symposium, BC, Canada (2010)

Scenario Planning across the Columbia Basin, Canada

Project Overview

The Columbia Basin Trust supports efforts by the people of the Columbia Basin to create a legacy of social, economic and environmental well-being and to achieve greater self-sufficiency for present and future generations. The Trust was created in 1995 to support efforts by the people in the Canadian portion of the Columbia River Basin – the region most affected by the Columbia River Treaty. In 2010, the Trust hosted the Columbia Basin Symposium: Shaping Our Future Together: Take Action, Build Partnerships, Strengthen Communities. The symposium engaged over 300 residents on the future of the region.

The participants were encouraged to consider the key drivers that would shape the Basin and how responses to them could lead to very different, but likely, future scenarios for the region. (2010)
  • Production of the scenario planning report, ‘Shaping our future together’ (2010)
