Future of Manufacturing in Illinois (2021)

Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC), Illinois, USA (2021)

Project Overview

The Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center consists of a team of improvement specialists and technicians dedicated to providing organizations in Illinois with the tools and techniques they need to create sustainable competitive futures. Team members work closely with clients to plan critical business improvements in the areas of Leadership, Strategy, Customer Engagement, Operations, and Workforce.

As manufacturing regions across the United States emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, industries are facing new realities that will impact small, medium, and large manufacturers alike. This project analyzed trend research on key drivers impacting the future of manufacturing in Illinois and will engage stakeholders and clients in a series of interviews, focus groups, and think-tank forums to explore these future trends as they relate to Industry 4.0 preparedness and future readiness. Through this project, IMEC sought to become a thought leader for manufacturing in Illinois by engaging manufacturers, policy makers, and academicians to develop a preferred vision of the future for manufacturing in Illinois.
