Lake Geneva Strategic Action Plan Project (2025 – 2026)
Project Overview
The City of Lake Geneva’s visioning and strategic planning project will produce the City’s first ever Strategic Action Plan.
The Strategic Action Plan is a document that guides the City’s future and assists the Common Council with assessing and prioritizing needs and projects to ensure the most efficient and effective use of City time and resources as well as the development of a governance process that is reflective of current best practices for municipal operations. The strategic planning process begins with the creation of a Community Vision for Lake Geneva. The Community Vision sets the stage and provides the foundational strategic pillars of the Strategic Action Plan. Public involvement and input are critical components of the strategic planning process and stakeholders are provided both in-person and online opportunities to engage with this project.
Future iQ was contracted to develop Lake Geneva’s Strategic Action Plan over a 7-month period. The process produces a new Strategic Action plan that guides the community’s decision-making for the next five years.
Future iQ®'s Role in this Project
- Significant background research and data-collection has occurred to produce an Existing Conditions Report to be used as reference throughout the visioning and planning process.
- Public engagement and outreach are foundational elements of this project. The project team engages community members and stakeholders with initial interviews, Community Survey, project newsletters, social media posts, a 2-session scenario-planning Think-Tank Workshop, a Community Update, and a public Community Future Summit.
- Future iQ team members meet with City staff on a weekly basis. The project team also meet with the Common Council for the duration of the project.
- Future iQ has produced a project portal/website which is the go-to place to sign up for project events, learn of project updates, interact with survey data visualization, and read project newsletters and reports.
- The final deliverables include the production of an Existing Conditions Report , a Think-Tank Report, and a Strategic Action Plan Report.
