Future iQ is working with the Smithville School District to design and facilitate a 5-year strategic planning process that will provide comprehensive direction for school years 2023-2024 through 2028-2029. Smithville is a first-tier suburb of Kansas City, Missouri, with a population of approximately 10,406 (2020 U.S. Census). The city is a tight-knit community that values its small-town feel and its highly rated education system. Residents also have easy access to the Kansas City International Airport and U.S. Route 169, a north-south highway that runs for 966 miles from Minnesota to Oklahoma.
The Smithville School District’s strategic action planning project is intended to bring together students, community members, and staff through an extensive engagement process that will lead to the identification of Smithville’s ‘Portrait of a Graduate’ and vision for the future of the school district. The outcome of the planning process will be a Strategic Action Plan that will guide school leadership and stakeholders through school year 2028-2029.
