The Middle Georgia Innovation Project is the first step in implementing the regional action plan from the Middle Georgia Charrette and Regional Planning Initiative, which Future iQ was contracted to carry out in 2018. The plan identified six key pillars of action, two of which are being advanced in The Middle Georgia Innovation Project.
The Middle Georgia Innovation Project is funded by the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) and intends to explore the innovation eco-system across the 11 counties of Middle Georgia. Mapping the current ecosystem and providing an innovation gap analysis, this project intends to build innovation in the Middle Georgia region and establish it as a place which will attract new industry, businesses and residents.
The Middle Georgia Innovation Project will advance the efforts building the workforce that the region needs for the future and build innovation in the Middle Georgia region, which has been identified as an opportunity need. The project also intends to start the process of developing Middle Georgia as the ‘Software Center of Excellence.’
