Age-Friendly Minnesota, Minnesota, USA (2023)

Helping communities and organizations to work on age-friendly projects and become better places for all Minnesotans to grow older.

Project Overview

The Age-Friendly Minnesota (AFMN) Council, in collaboration with the MN Department of Human Services, is offering Technical Assistance Provider (TAP) Grants and Community Grants to help communities and organizations to work on age-friendly projects and become better places for all Minnesotans to grow older. The Council is committed to making Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) the foundation of AFMN, including this grants program. TAP Grants are designed to help AFMN Community Grant applicants carry out their grant-funded projects. TAP Grantees advise and support both AFMN Community applicants/grantees as well as other communities working on Age-Friendly initiatives for the duration of the Community Grant period.

Future iQ®'s Role in this Project

    • Future iQ is working closely with AFMN and participates in monthly TAP Grantee update meetings, as well as quarterly Community of Practice cohort meetings.
    • Future iQ assisted one potential AFMN Community Grantee with the Community Grant application process.
    • Future iQ is advising and providing guidance to five AFMN Community Grantees throughout the grant period. This includes assistance with the administration of their grant projects, writing progress reports, and meeting project goals.
    • Future iQ is preparing and delivering in-person and recorded sessions as part of AFMN events and conferences. The sessions are intended to help build the capacity of Community Grantees and other entities.
    • Future iQ is producing a project portal to highlight project progress and provide an information resource for those interested in AFMN initiatives.
